Coachs Programme Notes
WEST WALES SHARKS 24th JUNE 2006
Good afternoon,
Its been along time coming but finally we have out first home game.
for this afternoon’s fixture, on behalf of Aberavon Fightin’ Irish RL, it gives me great
pleasure in welcoming to the Little Warren, all the players, officials and supporters of
the newly formed West Wales Sharks. I hope you enjoy your visit and our after match
hospitality.
Our last fixture, which was away to Swansea Valley Miners, saw us come away with a
record defeat. We really couldn’t get into the game and with the quality of our opposition
it was very much hard to get back into the game whilst we where 24-0 down by half
time. The damage was already done. But our young side showed a bit more determination
in the second half to pull a few points back but too little to late. Hopefully we can start
today’s game where we left off.
The WRL have managed to re-arrange our fixture due Pembrokeshire Panther’s withdrawal
from the conference all the new fixtures can be found on our website.

I would also like to Congratulate Eight of our Squad members who have been selected to
represent Wales at this years European Championships which is being held in France
this coming July. I would also like to congratulate Mark Burke on his selection with
Wales A.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Aberavon Green Stars RFC for once
again hosting us at theses superb facilities. I would also like to thank the medical, field
and catering staff for all their efforts to ensure that our players receive the best treatment
both on and off the field of play.
May I welcome the match referee today, we hope you enjoy your visit and if possible the
match and we ask all supporters and players to give the referee the utmost of respect for
without him we could have no game.
Now settle down and enjoy what hopes to be exciting rugby.

for this afternoon’s fixture, on behalf of Aberavon Fightin’ Irish RL, it gives me great
pleasure in welcoming to the Little Warren, all the players, officials and supporters of
the Swansea Valley Miners. I hope you enjoy your visit and our after match hospitality.
Our last fixture, which was away to West Wales Sharks, saw us come away with a
comfortable victory against our hosts. In all fairness to the newly formed West Wales
Sharks they gave a good account of themselves and im sure as rugby league picks up
Down in the west of Wales we will see this team going from strength to Strength.
Due to the postponement of our game away to the West Wales Sharks due to a fire in
Their clubhouse we now have a busy end of the season where we have to fit in a few
Re-arranged fixtures. If you would like to keep up to date with this info then visit our

I would also like to Congratulate Eight of our Squad members who have just returned
From this years European Championship representing Wales under 19’s. I would like
to thank you for being true ambassadors of the club. I would also like to mention that
this club had more young players at this age group than any other club, this shows
The potential rugby league has in the area and it’s a good omen for us in the future.

BRIDGEND BLUE BULLS 29th JULY 2006
Good afternoon,
for this afternoon’s fixture, on behalf of Aberavon Fightin’ Irish RL, it gives me great
pleasure in welcoming to the Little Warren, all the players, officials and supporters of
the Bridgend Blue Bulls. I hope you enjoy your visit and our after match hospitality.
Our last outing was against the newly formed West Wales Sharks and as you would
Have read in my previous notes I could sense that there was an upset in them this
Season what I didn’t expect was that it would cost us the chance of winning this
Conference. I could make up excuses but that would only be hiding reality. We did
Struggle for numbers as various players weren’t able to make it due to Union
Commitments but that happens to every team. But for the second time this season we
fail to hit it from the off, and going in to half time with such a huge margin down it was
Always going to be hard to recover. I would like to forget about it and move on to
today’s fixture.
I would like to congratulate our visitors today on winning the conference for the third
Season in a row. I know they have struggled to at the beginning due to the huge loss
of players to both The Crusaders and their Union clubs. It is a credit to them
That they have managed to pull through that and once again set the benchmark for all
Conference teams to aim for. Once again congratulations.
Today we have a chance to put right what went wrong on Wednesday. This is a great thing
About rugby is that you get a chance the week later to put every thing right. I know the
Players where disappointed as everyone else but lets not dwell on this and now shown
Some true character and our targets now have to be to reach the Final on August 12th.
